Restonica valley - Calvi - Calanques de Piana
-> last one from my Corsica notes/impressions, finished at home. I’ve never saw a place which strongly reminded me some artwork. Yes, we sometimes feeling deja vu, or we look at something and saying:”Oh, this reminds me this and that… “… but have you ever felt that you actually “see this thing” before? But somewhere else!
When I saw these jagged cliffs of Piana I told myself, that my favourite Max Ernst definitely get inspiration from it. Because one of his best pieces(for me), Europe after the rain, is one of the many views from Calanques de Piana.

The small French village of Chambon-sur-Lignon received a surprise $2.4 million gift in the will of a 90-year-old Austrian man named Eric Schwam.
Shocked officials soon learned that Schwam was paying the town back for saving him and his family from the Nazis 80 years earlier.
He asked that the town use the money to fund education initiatives and scholarships for the local children

I am back !! - with one the most beautiful books ever. I started to read this book when it was the beginning of the end of summer - and it gave me the perfect and for the season. This is The Kites by Romain Gary. Our lead suffers from an “excess of memory” - a condition that never lets him forget anything. During the Nazi war, the book explores innocence, resistance, hope and a love for one’s own country. I do not want to go too much in detail, as you can find a lot of info behind the book where it explains that he fells in love with a girl named Lila. The book not just about his love for Lila but also about his love for France. Our lead, Ludo, explores the innocence theme with kites - where he never quits his relationship with the innocence of such a pure toy. He never gives up on France just like he never gives up on Lila. Such a dreamy and an emotional read. There is truely no one like Romain Gary.
“ … part of being a human is the inhumanity of it. As long as we refuse to admit that inhumanity is completely human, we’ll just be telling ourselves pious lies.”
I am really sorry that maybe i couldn’t provide you guys a great review for this, but i guess you should just trust me BLINDLY and read this book cause it really is a special one 🤍
